Leafpool's Secret Heart

Twilight cloaked the lake as Leafpool slipped away from ThunderClan's camp to "collect herbs," as she told her mentor. Gnawing guilt and shame consumed her thoughts as she walked alone, yet she didn't have the strength to turn back. Crickets filled the forest with their love songs and a gentle new-leaf breeze blew the scent of WindClan towards the tabby as she neared the border. Her ears pricked and her heart raced with the guilt and pleasure streaming through her every vein, and she couldn't fight the smile the forced its way onto her muzzle when she heard a familiar voice.

"Leafpool!"

"Crowfeather!" the ThunderClan she-cat bounded across the border, splashing through the stream as if it weren't there. The grey-black warrior met her as she flew over the soft moorland grass. Burying her face in his fur, she could already feel their hearts beating as one.

"I love you, Leafpool," Crowfeather whispered.

...and with those words, all her guilt washed away like a leaf floating in a river.

Admittedly, CrowxLeaf isn't one of my favourite Warriors couples. I personally think it was a little weird and random. But I do love its story of forbidden love...times two, since Leafpool was a ThunderClan medicine cat and Crowfeather was a WindClan warrior.

My first drawing done in Photoshop. I wanted to experiment with shading and lineart techniques, as with learning the program in general. I'm still not sure if I like it.
